Maria B. Garcia, daughter of Joseph and Marites Garcia of Syracuse, UT, graduated from Weber State University in December 2019. Ms. Garcia earned a Master of Arts degree in English, and her work was published.

During her studies, she was a substitute teacher at public and residential schools in the area. Upon graduation, Ms. Garcia was hired as an English teacher at a charter school in Sandy, UT.
