Donna, of South Ogden, celebrated her 90th birthday, at a family gathering of where a 100 family members attended.
She was born in Ogden on Jan. 4, 1929, to Rulon J. Harper and Claribel Richardson.
She graduated from Weber High School in 1947. In her senior year, she was selected Miss Weber. She attended Weber State College.
She married A. Dee Vest on February 19, 1949; their vows were later solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple. He died on May 2, 2013.
The family moved to Pendleton, Ore., in 1953 and returned to Ogden in 1973, During those 20 years, she held many teaching and leadership positions in the LDS Church.
She held numerous positions with the schools, serving many years as PTA President. She worked years as an Ogden Temple worker and worked for local dentists and retired from ZCMI.
She is a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and served as registrar on the international board, Ogden Museum Board and various camp posts. She was selected as the 2008 Daughters of the Utah Pioneer Queen for the 24th of July celebration. She is a member of the Altruist Club, where she served as president and other positions.
Her hobbies are family, quilting, crocheting and porcelain painting, and she shares what she produces with family and friends.
She was blessed with six children, four boys and two daughters, Dennis and Melanie, Steve and Becky, Larry, Clif and Lisa, Denise (deceased) and Debra. She has 25 grandchildren and 73 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, with six on the way.
