Contributed Photo

Gary says his life has been quite a journey. He was born not in a hospital, but in his parent's home, in Bountiful, on November 7, 1938. He was welcomed as a second son to Keith and Sybil Hansen. His brothers are; Kent, Fred and Scott. His sisters are; Lynette, Joy and Melanie.

He says he has had a great life. Has always done what he loved to do. Played football, ran track and enjoyed wrestling at Davis High School. Learned to weld at Salt Lake Area Vocational School and still welds for friends and neighbors. Drove a diesel truck while he played football and studied psychology at Weber State College. Coached football, wrestling and track at Kaysville Junior High and Layton High School. Loved his athletes, still does. Taught biology, physiology and driver's education to great kids at Kaysville Junior High, Layton and Northridge High School. Volunteered as a fireman for the town of Uintah. Drove crews for Wild Land Firefighters. Served his church in various callings and also an inner-city mission with his wife.

Served his country for thirty-two years and continues his service with other great veterans in a Combined Honor Guard.

He loves his children: Kirk and Louann, Malinda and John, Heidi and Kirk, Guy, Jill and Del, Joel, Nicole and Brian and Dan. He loves his twenty-eight grandchildren and thirty-seven great-grandchildren. He is a faithful companion and loyal friend.

Thanks to all who wrote great letters remembering him on this special birthday.

Happy Birthday, Gary!
