Juan Elano Gaudelupe
Our Father was born to Lucio and Luciana Velorde Colunga on January 19, 1929, in Grand Junction Colorado. His mother passed away when he was a very young age and both of his grandmother's disagreed on what his baptized name should be. So the name "Guadalupe" was thrown in and Aunt's and Uncles who helped raise him shortened it to "Lupe".
He learned to work hard and spent 34 years in the bread baking profession mainly for Wonder Bread. He then went to work in the aerospace industry for Hercules Inc. (now Northrop Grumman) making rocket motors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and traveling. He has been a mentor to many and about the best Dad a son could hope for. After retirement, he continued to work until he suffered a stroke at age 72. For the last 18 years, Dad has carried half of his body around due to this stroke. WHAT A TUFF BIRD!!!
He married Reta Schultz Fife in August 1980. He has three sons: Jack T. (Kay) Colunga. Tom L. (Gail) Colunga. Toby A. (Colleen,) Colunga. From these son's he has six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren and many more from his wife's family who lovingly call him Grandpa.
We all love you, Happy Birthday Dad.
