Doris Rose Duncombe Borger

Doris Rose Borger, 87, was called home by her Father in Heaven on October 31, 2021, to reunite with her family and sweetheart. Born April 14, 1934, to George David and Doris Blanch Duncombe in Ogden, Utah. She was a source of joy and inspiration to everyone who knew her, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

Doris married Warren C. Child in 1953 and had five beautiful children and was later divorced. On November 9, 1979, Doris married Lee Ray Borger. Ray passed away March 24, 2004. They were later sealed in the Bountiful Temple on April 27, 2006.

Doris was raised in Ogden and Roy, Utah. Doris graduated from Weber High School in 1952 and later took a government training course then worked at the IRS and Hill Air Force Base where she retired after 25 years of civil service.

Her family was the most important thing in Doris’ life, and she always put them first. Her family was her passion.

Doris is survived by her five children, Terry Lynn Martinez, Pamela (Ron) Nicholls, Cheri (Curt) Hymas, Warren (Kathryn) Child, and Lori (Rick) Tennant; one very special sister-in-law, Norene Seymour; 26 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren with two more boys on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her five brothers, David Melvin Duncombe, Earl LeRoy Duncombe, Donald W Duncombe, Leslie Leo Duncombe, Lowell Glen Duncombe; and one sister, Shirley LaRue Hadley; son-in-law, Michael B Martinez; granddaughter, Mindi Brooke Nicholls.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Roy City Cemetery, 5200 South 2300 West Roy, Utah, 84067.
