Emma passed away peacefully at the age of 96 years in the loving home of her daughter, Margaret (Robert) Taylor in Hyrum, Utah. Emma was born in South Morgan, Utah on May 24, 1925, to Arletta Ray Robinson and Oliver R. Stuart. She graduated from Morgan High School, Class of 1943.

Emma was blessed with a beautiful singing voice and sang at her first funeral at the tender age of 8, for her maternal grandfather’s service. She continued to share this talent throughout her life at countless funerals, choirs, church callings and other events. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

She was employed at the Morgan Movie Theater, J. Williams & Sons, Valley Implement, Carter’s Café, and Stewarts’s Confectionary. She was also employed at IRS and HAFB, retiring in 1987.

She married Verl A. Smith on March 18, 1944. He passed away on September 15, 1985. She then married Dale L. Smith on August 22, 1986. He passed away January 1, 2010. Emma, Verl and family spent much of their married life working and recreating on the Smith family cattle ranch. She and Verl were members of the Morgan Valley Riders and had great adventures trail riding with dear friends.

She is survived by two sons and three daughters, V. Arnold (Linda) Smith, Stuart J. (Nadine) Smith, Margaret (Robert) Taylor, Annette (Brad) Peterson, and Marie (Larry) Woolsey, 20 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, 4 step-children, and one sister-in-law, Vada Smith Brimley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, 3 great-grandchildren, one sister Betty Mae Stuart Rollins, 3 half-brothers and 2 half-sisters, Oliver N. Stuart, Thomas L. Ray, John V. Ray, Melba Ray Layton, and Marjorie Ray Stephens.

As a family we express our gratefulness and appreciation to our sister Margaret and her family for their tireless efforts and care of our mother for the past 4 years.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Rock Church (10 W. Young Street) in Morgan, Utah. Friends may visit with family members Wednesday evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, 45 W. 200 N., Morgan, Utah and at the church prior to services from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Interment in the North Morgan Cemetery.
