Marguerite Yates Wheeler

Marguerite Yates Wheeler passed away on November 15, 2021 at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah after a short illness. She is the beloved wife of the late Lynn H Wheeler, devoted mother of Debbie Steed (Gregory J. Steed), Julie (Dal) Wiscombe, Brett Lynn (Sherry) Wheeler, Tami (Matthew) Garn, Jason Melvin (Debbie Ann) Wheeler and Rachael (Jeff Mark) Gardner; sister to Deanna (Jr.) Johansen, Sandra (Oleen) Holdaway, Jolene (Ross) Davidson, JoDale (Bobbie) Yates, Alma (Nickie) Yates, Leland (Janene) Yates, Christena (Stephen) Reeder, David (Vella) Yates, Jay (Lori) Yates, Sherry (Bill) Steele, Farris (LeighEllen) Kent, Scott Kent and Randy Kent; loving grandmother to 33 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Marguerite was born on February 13, 1947 to Joseph Lewis and Christena Engberson Yates in the Cooley Memorial Hospital in Brigham City, Utah. She was a devoted and loyal daughter. She graduated from Box Elder High and went on to Weber State College, where she met her husband, Lynn and fell in love. They were married on September 1, 1966. With some college education behind her, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a mother, to raise and teach her children to love and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. She taught through her example, sharing of correct principles and earnest prayer, which were the fabric of her life.

She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many different callings. Her favorite calling was as Blazer Leader; she loved those boys all through their lives. She also served as a Relief Society President and many other callings which she loved with all of her heart. She lived with pure and simple faith to her very last breath.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, West Weber Cemetery.
