Nancy Rasmussen Galvez, age seventy-nine, of Riverdale, Utah, passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, October 9, 2021, surrounded by her family.

Nancy was born July 12, 1942, in Ogden, Utah to Jarold Lewis Rasmussen and Madge T Harris. She graduated from Weber High School in 1960.

She is survived by her loving husband, Don Galvez and their children; Troy Parsons, Jerry (Pam) Arave, Michael (Katherine) Arave, Michele (Martin) Tremblay, Cindy Mayberry, ShaRelle Nelson, and Troy Holden; 25 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister Jerry (Sid) Stoker and Cris (Reed) Thurgood.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jarold and Madge Rasmussen, granddaughters Amber Parsons and Taylor Arave, and son Todd Holden.

Nancy was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother; she endured many trials and hardships in her lifetime. She affectionately spoke of the years when she grew up in Ogden Valley and the love she had for her parents and the many lessons they taught her. Nancy was a strong woman who worked hard and sacrificed much to ensure her children were taken care of. She worked at RC Willey Home Furnishings, America First Credit Union and took an evening job at Bonneville Collections. She retired from RC Willey in 2000.

Nancy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. There were many times in Nancy’s life that she relied heavily on her faith in Jesus Christ and His perfect Atonement to get her through difficult times. She married her sweetheart, Don Galvez 9 October 1992 in Riverdale, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple October 9, 1995. Nancy loved her family and she and Don especially enjoyed the time they spent with their children and grandchildren.

Services will be held at Leavitt’s Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah. Funeral will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation on Friday October 15, 2021, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday 1:00-1:45 p.m.

Interment at Leavitt’s Aultorest Memorial Park.
