Dorothy Corinne Lewis Erickson
January 12, 1939 — October 15, 2021
Dorothy Corinne Lewis Erickson, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 15, 2021 after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on January 12, 1939 in White Salmon, Washington, to Clarence Monroe and Hazel Lufkin Davenport Lewis.
She married Edward John Erickson on December 21, 1960 in the Salt Lake Temple. They celebrated 45 years of marriage before Edward passed away on July 9, 2006.
Dorothy graduated from Glenwood High School where she was the Valedictorian and lettered all four years in Volleyball. She then graduated from BYU where she received her bachelor’s degree in Speech Therapy. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings including YW Camp Director, YW President, Relief Society President, Ward Activity Chairman and many more. She was an accomplished Soprano and loved singing in the ward choir and small groups.
She enjoyed crocheting and made many baby blankets. She loved to go camping with her family and being in the mountains. She also enjoyed reading, religion, politics and naps with dark chocolate chips.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Jolette Marie (Erick) Franco of Kaysville, JeRee Lyn Quintrequeo of South Ogden, Kelly Ann (Danny) Miller of Fayette, AL, Kristine Kay (David) Odekirk of Layton, Robert Edward (Stacey) Erickson of Layton, and Scott Lewis (Karen) Erickson of Logan; 24 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and brother, Robert Eugene (Wendy) Lewis of Spanish Fork. She was preceded in death by her husband; son-in-law, Tony Quintrequeo; granddaughter, Lynzee Mercedez Quintrequeo; parents; and one brother, Donald Wayne Lewis.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the South Ogden 6th Ward, 4380 Orchard Avenue. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
Our heartfelt appreciation to the Layton Stake who ministered to Mom by offering religious services, activities, gifts… and included her in a church family when she most needed help, love, and comfort. We would like to acknowledge and thank the wonderful staff, and cute CNAs of Sunridge Assisted Living in Layton for the special attention, care, and patience she received as she struggled through the devastating toll that Alzheimer’s took on her body and mind. They were special angels for our family during this time!
