Harold Doxey Donaldson

Harold Doxey Donaldson passed away peacefully in his home on October 19th, 2021, surrounded by family at the age of 93. Dad was born in Ogden, Utah on January 8th, 1928 to John Kissel Donaldson and Mary Elizabeth Doxey. He married his sweetheart Martha Ann Crittenden on May 7th, 1953 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.

Harold found great joy and comfort by being active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission to France just after WWII and later served a mission with Martha Ann in Nauvoo, Illinois. Served faithfully in many church callings and found much joy serving in the Ogden Temple.

Education was very important to him, he graduated High School in Fife, Washington, later graduated from the University of Utah with his BS Degree in Geology. He worked for the State of Utah in the Division of Water Rights as an adjudication’s engineer and retired after 35 years.

Harold enjoyed spending time with his family, Sunday evening gatherings gave him great comfort and joy. He was part of a large family and his close relationship with his siblings was very important to him. He loved the outdoors hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, and making jewelry. He knew the value of hard work and enjoyed building.

Harold is survived by Martha Ann, wife of 68 years, his children Debra (Kris) Leininger, Susan (David) Haws, Don (Frankie), Samuel (Karen), and Jane (David) Judd, also 23 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren, siblings Jay, Joan Quinn, Helen Bingham, Paul (Carma), Barbara Nelson, and Carol (Keith) Checketts.

Preceded in death by his daughter Martha Ann Furse, parents, 7 brothers and 4 sisters.

Services will be held at the Hoytsville Ward Building (1100 So. Hoytsville Rd.). Viewing Sunday, Oct. 24th from 5:00 ­ 7:00 pm, Monday the 25th from 9:30 ­ 10:30 am, with the funeral service at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the LDS church missionary fund would be appreciated.
