William Edward Younger

Sep 18, 2021

July 26, 1936 — September 16, 2021

William ‘Bill’ Edward Younger passed away peacefully at home, returning to his loving Savior and into the arms of his best friend and soulmate, Patrecia Jackson Younger. Losing Mom only 26 days ago, it was clearly too long to be apart. He made it ‘home’ in time to celebrate their 66th wedding anniversary together.

Bill was born on July 26, 1936, in Ogden, Utah to Lavon Probst and Chester William Younger.

He married his beautiful bride, Patrecia, on September 30, 1955. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on May 26, 1965. Mom and Dad were a shining example of partnership, friendship, service, and love. That service mentality was especially shown over the last 10 years with Dad devoting all of his time and energy into caring for Mom. Love knows no bounds and he exemplified that every single day, there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for her. She was his everything.

Dad was an excellent craftsman. Known for his ‘fix it’ skills, he also enjoyed building things over the years and helping complete various projects. He loved working with leather and wood, creating many special treasures for his family. With a love of model trains, he built and collected all kinds of models over the years and even created a replica of an old western town in his backyard. He enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with his family, with one of his favorite holidays being Christmas Day. He had a special talent for gardening and growing pumpkins was one of his favorites. In retirement, you could find Mom and Dad exploring the backroads of Utah in their “Buggy.” Dad lived a simple yet impactful life, this showed through his love of his Wife, his family, and the Lord. He had a unique and cherished love for the Old West and what that heritage meant to him.

He is survived by his sister, June Fuller, his children JulieAnn MacArthur, Gayleen (Dave) Williams, Pam (Jeff) Lynn, and James (Laurie) Younger; 23 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Patrecia, brother Ronald Younger, daughter Sherrie Younger and one great-grandson.

Our Dad was a man of strength and determination, someone we all looked up to and who changed our lives for the better. Although we take comfort in knowing he and Mom are together again, we can’t help but feel a sting in our hearts when we realize…this is where the cowboy rides away.

Services will be held on Tuesday, September 21st, 2021, at 11 am at the Shadow Mountain Ward, 5191 Old Post Road, Ogden, UT. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday prior to the service with a viewing from 9:30-10:30 am at the church. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.

Services will be live-streamed and may be viewed at www.lindquistmortuary.com by scrolling to the bottom of Bill’s obituary page.
