Jeanette Weinmeister Cranston

Jeanette Kay Weinmeister Cranston, Willard, died quietly in her garden on August 6, 2022. She was born in Windsor, Colorado, to David J and Katherine Schanhals Weinmeister on February 6, 1936. She graduated from Windsor High School and attended Colorado State University.

She married James L. Ware, Loveland, Colorado, in 1955 at Elim Lutheran Church and moved to Roy where four children were raised. They divorced in 1973. She and Anthony L. Cranston were married in 1981 and lived in Sunset and Layton before moving to Willard in 2005. She retired after 26 years of civil service having worked at Hill Air Force Base, Defense Mapping Agency and Federal Aviation Administration. She also worked part-time at Lifetime Products.

Jann was an avid sports fan and had bowled, golfed, and played pool on many leagues in the area. Some of her favorite things were ‘the kiddos’, family parties, gardening, pumpkin picnics, needle work and crafts, reading, Denver Broncos, Utah Jazz, storms, and sunsets.

She is survived by her husband of Willard, one son, Jerry N. (Vickie) Ware, Sunset; three daughters, Jamie (Dennis) Keon, Portage; Jody (Alan) Bosley, Malad, ID; Janet (Russell) Preece, Clearfield; one step-son, Michael (Melanie) Cranston, Barry, TX. Also surviving are grandchildren: Jessica Ware, Stephanie Eggett, Amber Williams, Rebecca Warden, Sunni Robison, Cadie Norris, Jacoby Ware, and Haylie McDonaldd; and step-grandchildren: Marissa and Madison Cranston. Twelve great-grandchildren: Deckar Hadlie, Corbin, Mallie, Hunter, Braxton, JaideMai, Gage, Brekin, Jackson, Adrian, and Brynlyn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Wilbert and Werner L. Weinmeister of Yucca Valley, CA.

Cremation by Myers Mortuary. Inurnment will be at a later date.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a family gathering at a later date.
