Brigitte Elke Schultz

Brigitte Schultz, cherished wife, mother, sister and close friend to many, passed away surrounded by her family on August 24, 2022. She was born July 20, 1942 to Helmut and Walli Mueller in Sprottau, Germany. Brigitte had many fond memories of her childhood in Germany. After graduating from business school in 1959, she worked as a nanny in London, England and as a waitress in Bienne, Switzerland.

Brigitte met her future husband Albert “Buzz” Schultz at a dance in 1963 in Darmstadt, Germany. They were married on October 10, 1964 in Reno, NV and started a family in Hawthorne, NV where they lived for 17 years.

In January 1981 the family moved to Ogden, Utah. Brigitte began her career as a civil servant with the U.S. Government in 1968 and retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1993.

She utterly enjoyed being a volunteer for many years at Lincoln Elementary school and at the Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Olympics. In 2008, she was the recipient of the Spirit of the American Woman Award. Brigitte liked to ski in the winter and golf in the summer with her many friends. She enjoyed traveling and crossed the US with her husband in their fifth wheel camp trailer and visited Hawaii and Alaska. She made many trips back to Germany to visit family and friends and traveled to many countries: England, France, Mexico, Canada, Jamaica, Italy, Bahamas, Czech Republic, Hungary, Greece, Australia, and New Zealand. She was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church.

Brigitte is survived by her husband, Albert “Buzz”; two children, son Stephen (Stacey) Schultz, daughter Chris (Kevin) Hasler; grandsons, Ryker and Parker Schultz; great-grandchildren, Halston, Kylee, Niklaus and Diego; brother, Arthur (Christel) Mueller; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1105 North Washington Blvd., Ogden, UT. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
