Dee Venable

1931 — 2022

It was December 10, 2022, that Dee Venable, 91, went to meet his sweetheart of 72 years who was waiting for him on the other side of the veil.

He was the son of Alvin Richard and Francis Irene Thompson Venable. He was born on December 19, 1930, in Ogden and was raised in Riverdale along with his sister Betty.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings that he enjoyed. He loved the Savior and tried to follow His example.

He married the love of his life on March 24, 1950, in Ogden and had their love sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Temple on May 3, 1955. After they had their family, they moved to North Ogden in 1968.

Dee started overhauling tractors at age 16 for the Ogden Implement Company and worked there for 36 years. Later he started working for the Weber County Road Department as a mechanic and shop foreman and continued there until 1996 at age 65. After his official retirement he continued repairing tractors for farmers throughout the area.

He is survived by the following children: Randy (Janice) Venable, Terry (Cindy) Venable, Chad (Christy) Venable, Troy (Jodi) Venable, 16 granddaughters, 6 grandsons, 65 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Betty, his parents, his daughter Cathy (Tom Clark), daughter-in-law Kathy (Chad Venable), grandson Sheldon Clark, granddaughter Jamie Lacefield, and his sister Betty Sawyer.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 16, 2022, 11 a.m., at the North Ogden 11th Ward Building, 2340 No. Fruitland Drive. Viewings will be held on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Friday prior to services from 9:40-10:40 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at the Ben Lomond Cemetery, 526 E. 2850 N., North Ogden, Utah.
