Jan 21, 2022

09/23/1940 — 01/18/2022

Our beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother passed away peacefully at home. Mom was born in Preston Idaho, the daughter of Leslie K Mockli and Donna Barton Mockli. She graduated from Davis High School in 1958 where she met Garry James Bennett and they fell in love. They were married November 8, 1958. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

After graduating from Cosmetology school, she worked as a beautician for 50 years. As she grew her business, she enjoyed lasting friendships with the people that she served. Mom loved people and enjoyed making friends wherever she went.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she had the honor of serving in many callings. Mom and Dad served a mission at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City. They loved meeting new people and hearing their stories. It was truly one of her treasured memories.

She loved traveling, bowling, gardening, crochet, crafts and oil painting. She was a member of Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

Mom is survived by her husband Garry Bennett, her children; Christie (Colin) Blackner, Shawn Bennett, Donnell (Michael) Bunting, Bryce (Emilio Trevino) Bennett and two sisters; Jill Shiffer and Judy Silvester. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Les and Donna Mockli, one brother Kent Mockli and her in-law’s, Rueben & Mable Bennett.

Mom will be so missed by her family and grandchildren who adored her.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. Friends may visit with family Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
