Kent Penrod Hackley

September 27, 1946 ­– January 19, 2022

Our father, Kent P. Hackley, was born to Charles Moore and Lois Afton Penrod Hackley and passed away surrounded by family on January 19, 2022, in Clearfield, UT.

Kent served in the Navajo Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Business Marketing and worked as a salesman for Browning, Smith and Wesson, and other outdoor sporting goods companies for over thirty years.

Kent was married to Laraine Stucki in 1968; they later divorced. Kent was married to Joann Christensen in 1980; they later divorced.

He enjoyed the outdoors: hunting, hiking, camping, and shooting, including reloading his own ammo. Kent also loved reading, training golden retrievers, dog breeding, and watching army movies. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters: Pauline Kearney and Darlene Ziegel. He is survived by his brother Charles Moore Hackley; his four children: Danette, Chad, Kendra, and Colton; twelve grandchildren; and his golden retriever: Gunner.

His family would like to extend their sincere thanks to his neighbors: the Brown, Porter, and Terry families; his caregiver: Jen Larsen; and the numerous medical staff that worked so hard to take care of him.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 25th at 12 pm to 1 pm at Provident Funeral Home, 3800 Washington Blvd. Ogden, UT 84403 with services immediately following at the same location. Interment will be in the Ben Lomond Cemetery in North Ogden.
