Eusevio Chesty Leyva

May 13, 2025

August 8, 1955 – May 9, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eusevio “Chester” Leyva, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Chester was born in Hondo, Texas, to Raul G. Leyva, Sr. and Maria Gloria Bustamante Guzman Leyva, and he peacefully left this world on May 9, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and joyful memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Chester was preceded in death by his parents, Raul and Gloria Leyva; his cherished ex-wife, Medina Leyva; his sister, Elsie Leyva Shorty; and his son, Tyson Leyva.

He is survived by his brother, Raul Leyva, Jr.; his children, Eric and Amber Leyva; and his beloved grandchildren, Jordan and JaLiyah Williams, Aria, Amiyah and Armanee Leyva.

A man of great passion and warmth, Chester’s love for life was evident in everything he did. An avid baseball enthusiast in his youth, he was a rising star on the field, and his love for the game stayed with him throughout his life. As he grew older, Chester found joy in camping, fishing, building campfires, and capturing the breathtaking beauty of nature through his camera lens–whether it was clouds, sunrises, or sunsets. But nothing compared to the thrill he found riding his Harley, feeling the wind in and the freedom of the open road. His adventurous spirit was infectious, and he delighted in sharing those moments with family and friends.

A storyteller and jokester at heart, Chester brought laughter and joy wherever he went. His kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand touched everyone he met. His hands loved to work and fix things, driven by a genuine desire to help and improve the lives of others.

Chester’s life was a testament to love, humor, and embracing every moment. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will forever ride in our hearts, inspiring us to live fully and love fiercely. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

You will always be loved, and your memory will continue to inspire us all. Forever in our hearts!
