August 14, 1979 ~ April 6, 2019
Christopher Roger Macfarlane, our beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend passed away on April 6, 2019. Chris was born August 14, 1979 in Ogden, Utah, to Roger and Kim Macfarlane.
He graduated from Davis High School and began working at Northrop Grumman. He loved his aerospace career of 14 years and was promoted within the company. He was able to travel to many parts of Europe including Italy, France, England, and Germany to resolve complex issues for the company.
Chris never knew any strangers. He was a friend to everyone. Chris was selfless in providing help, comfort, or anything he had to offer to everyone he met. He had a loud, infectious laugh and laughed easily. He was an amazing storyteller and gave great descriptions of everything and everyone using facial expressions, accents, and body movements. In no time at all, he could get everyone around him laughing. The first night he met his wife at a mutual friend's birthday party, Michelle was in tears from laughing so hard at his reenactments of Ice Road Truckers and Ax Men. Chris loved deeply from the depths of his soul. It was this deep love and sea of emotion where he also battled darkness and insecurities, although he was so thoughtful that he never wanted to burden anyone with making them worry about him.
Chris, your daughter, and your wife love you so very much. We will never stop loving you. Luna will know her father through shared memories, pictures, videos, and the family and friends who love you dearly. Always. Thank you for teaching us about patience, kindness, joy, unconditional love, forgiveness, tolerance, humility, video games, movies, DND, Magic, and all of those incredibly awesome things that made you, you. Dude, you're freaking amazing. Beloved husband (Swaa), you're in my heart, on my mind, and I'm going to miss my best friend.
Chris is survived by his wife (Michelle Macfarlane), daughter (Luna Macfarlane), father (Roger Macfarlane), mother (Kim Macfarlane), step-mother (Kalene Bradley), brothers (Sean Macfarlane, Jordan Mikesell, Michael Bradley, Daniel Bradley), and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of Chris's life will be held Saturday, April 13, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 Fairfield Road, Layton, UT. Friends may visit family Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
Chris's family would like to thank all of Chris's friends, family, the Davis County Search and Rescue Volunteers, and Layton and Davis County law enforcement for all of your efforts on Chris's behalf.
