May 27, 1931 ~ March 13, 2019
Darlene Larae Ellison Corless Buckley, 87, was reunited with the love of her life ? John L. ? after 21 long years. She passed away on March 13, 2019, of natural causes.
Darlene was born on May 27, 1931 in Ogden, Utah to Cecil and Rosetta Kammeyer Ellison. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1949. She was employed with the IRS as a bookkeeper and later at Jodeen's Doll Shop, making dolls and doll clothes, a lot of which she proudly displayed in her home.
Darlene was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a member of the Coldwater 15th ward. She served in many callings throughout her life, her last one forming a monthly temple group. It was called the TLC group, standing for Temple, Lunch, and Conversation.
On February 3, 1950, Darlene married her sweetheart, John L. in Ogden, Utah. They were later sealed in the Logan Temple. They started their family when they adopted Pamela Jean in 1954 and Bradley John in 1963. They have been sealed together as an eternal family.
Darlene enjoyed traveling with her husband in their motorhome and seeing different parts of the country - spending most summers in Star Valley, WY with her siblings and extended family. She enjoyed playing golf, making ceramic dolls, and was an excellent seamstress. She was a social butterfly and loved all events with friends and family, including shopping, going to lunch, and spending time with her great-grandkids. She loved holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas and took great pride in decorating her home and hosting events such as a Witches Tea. She enjoyed gardening and loved having flowers around her. It was always important to Darlene to be dressed in her finest, right down to her matching jewelry, shoes, and purse and some of her favorite outings in her later years were going to the salon to get her hair and nails done.
Her greatest joys in life were her children, four granddaughters - Ashlie, Taylor, Courtney, and Chelsey - and 6 great-grandchildren. We will all miss her unconditional love, her contagious positive attitude, her generosity of spirit, her one-of-a-kind sense of humor, and her stubborn will to stay here on earth with her family, not wanting to miss a single moment in the lives of those she loved.
She is survived by her daughter Pam Lindley (Brad), son Bradley, brothers Frank (Pat) and Gary (Deaun), four granddaughters, six great-grandchildren, and many extended family members she cared deeply for. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Clifford, sister Marian Bishop, and spouses John L. and Floyd "Bud" Buckley whom she shared several years with.
Memorial services will take place on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at the Coldwater Meeting House at 770 East 2100 North, North Ogden, Utah. Friends may pay respects from 10:00-11:30 a.m. with funeral beginning at 11:30. Graveside services will take place following funeral services at Ben Lomond Cemetery in North Ogden.
