Don Samuel Knight

Don Samuel Knight

December 17, 1932 ~ January 12, 2019

Don Samuel Knight was born 17 December 1932 in Ogden, Utah to Samuel Tracy Knight and Eu Dora Mary Kendall. Dad left this life on earth to join those he loved on the other side of the veil Saturday, January 12, 2019; he was at home surrounded by his loving family. Don was the oldest of three siblings, Mary Lynn (Fuller) from Huntsville Utah and Cathleen (Tremea) from St. George Utah. Don spent his growing up years living in West Warren Utah, working together on their family dairy farm.

Don met Clejo Campbell while attending Weber High School. They were engaged on their High School Graduation night and married for Time and all Eternity on March 21, 1952, in the Salt Lake City Temple. Don wanted his children to know how much he loved their Mother and how they enjoyed being together.

Don and Clejo raised five children: Brenda (Roy) Wyatt of Twin Falls Idaho, Cindy (Terry) Venable of Layton Utah, Julie (Lonny) Della Lucia of Plain City Utah, Sam (Sheila) Knight of Pleasant View Utah, Gail (Brent) Ahlstrom of Huntsville Utah. They have 23 grandchildren and 51 great- grandchildren.

Don faithfully mailed out a monthly family newsletter called the Knight Reflector to keep his family close and informed about each other. It was a genealogical treasure that created a family legacy for his posterity. He often shared his testimony and his Patriotism and love for his country.

Don enlisted in the U.S. Army at the time of the Korean War and was stationed in San Francisco California where Clejo was able to join him.

Don and Clejo have served several missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1985, they accepted a call to serve a full-time mission to Perth Australia where they were named Brother and Sister Honey by the Elders because their love for each other was expressed in word and deed. They served for six years as Hosts at the Joseph Smith Building in Salt Lake City Utah, setting an example for their posterity.

Don was preceded in death by his wife Clejo and his parents.
