March 19, 1945 ^ October 26, 2018
Jeff was born in Cowley, Wyoming, to Julian Taggart Frost and Roma Marchant Frost, the third of four children. At the age of two, Jeff moved with his family to Ogden, Utah; where he attended Weber County schools and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1963. He was active in sports and attended Dixie College on a football scholarship. Jeff played the guitar and had a beautiful bass voice. He sang in numerous choirs and musical groups.
After joining the U.S. Army Reserves, where he was honorably discharged, he began a career in law enforcement.
Jeff was a Patrol Officer for South Ogden City, a Deputy for the Weber County Sheriff's Office, a Trooper for the Utah Highway Patrol and a Corrections Officer for the Davis County Sheriff's Office.
Jeff married Irene Hunter in 1967, and was the father of two children, Jubal Shane Frost and Jodi Kristine Frost.
After ending his career in law enforcement he became the founding owner/operator of Skyhook Towing in Layton, Utah.
He sold his company and began working for Savage Brothers Trucking as Operations Manager.
This position took him to Illinois, New Mexico and Oregon. Jeff and his family moved to Salem, OR; in 1990, where his granddaughters, Lexi and Aubrey, were born.
Jeff began building residential subdivisions and ultimately formed his own construction company. After retiring, Jeff returned to Ogden, where he enjoyed roaming the mountains and prairies, driving the back roads and enjoying a renewed friendship with his brother, Jack.
He was at times gruff and solemn, but was also intuitive, intelligent, and empathetic. He was big and strong with a tender and giving heart. Jeff died at home from pancreatic cancer surrounded by his family after many courageous months of battling this unforgiving disease.
He is survived by his children, granddaughters, mother, siblings; Jack, Julianne and Jeanlee; and numerous nieces and nephews. He had formed very special relationships with his nephews, Chas, who survives him and Julian; who preceded him in death. Also preceding in death were his father, and niece, Ashlee Phillips. Per Jeff's direction there will be no funeral services held. "I'll see ya when I see ya.."
