He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, and grandparents.

John is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, Bob (Kellie), of Fairbanks, AK; daughters, Melinda, of Fairbanks; and Jayme (Sheldon) Eckman, of Randall, Minnesota. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Eva, Gage, Garrett, and Tucker.

A private graveside service will be held in Remer, Minnesota.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Washington Terrace EMTs, Police and Fire Department for their fast and considerate response.
