June 12, 1934 ~ February 4, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter E. Lakomski on Monday, February 4, 2019, at the age of 84. Peter will be lovingly remembered by his wife of almost 20 years Angelika Kaiser, she was his soul mate, son Alan a daughter Tara.
Peter was born June 12, 1934, in New York To Elias Lakomski and Enfrozina Bihuniak, Ukrainian immigrants who met in New York.
Peter graduated from Bachelor Chemical Engineering City College of New York, Master of Science University of Utah. Peter was a Chemical Engineer, US Coast Guard Veteran, Amateur Radio KE7TQV and Master Mason.
Peter loved being an engineer. Creating new products and designing chemical plants. Among these were Cryogenic designs at Air Products Inc. Designing and building a facility for anaerobic adhesive for Loctite Corp. developing high energy rocket fuel oxidizers for Thiokol, Inc.
Peter loved to travel the world with Angelika and their favorite place to visit was Kenya, near Mount Kilimanjaro and meet up with the wonderful Maasai people.
Peter loved classical music by Tchaikovsky, jazz, ballet, paintings, sculptures and the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Peter found peace and tranquility fly fishing in a float tube on a mountain lake, eagles flying overhead and mule deer on the shore. Relaxing with a book and enjoying great deep conversation and occasional discussions. Peter was a good man, very loving and generous to a fault. His greatest joy was finding new love with Angelika after the death of his first wife Shirley, and having faithful friends.
Peter is survived by his wife Angelika; and his children: son Alan (Pam) Lakomski, daughter Tara Jill Parkinson, step-daughter Doris (Carlos) Solares, step-son David (Linice) Kaiser. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Peter was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Ann Torres, daughter Susan Lakomski and son Eric Lakomski.
Now Peter has moved on to whatever awaits him. Life, God, and the Universe are mysteries that are beyond his mortal comprehension.
The family expresses their sincere appreciation to the doctors and staff at the Ogden Clinic and to McKay Dee Hospital for their wonderful help and kindness they extended to my husband Peter in our hour of need.
A celebration of Peter's life will be held at a later Date.
