R. LaRane Carlson Cordova

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, R. LaRane Carlson Cordova, completed her earthly mission on September 2, 2018.

She was the oldest of three children born to Fern Prudence and Carl Lavar Carlson on August 21, 1932. She was raised in Pleasant Grove, Utah, and Lehi, Utah, and graduated from Lehi High School in 1950. She married Horace Joseph Cordova on May 1, 1954, in Ogden, Utah. Together they had six children. He passed away in 1990.

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in many callings, but her favorite was the Nursery. She had many creative talents like sewing, flower arranging, crocheting, and creative writing. She loved collecting antiques, dolls, and figurines especially Precious Moments. She had many "careers" in her lifetime including wife and mother. She also worked for IRS, Marilyn's Flower Garden, Deseret Industries, and The Pantry. She was also a successful salesperson of Avon and Sarah Coventry Jewelry. She made many friends and was loved by all.

LaRane is survived by three sons and three daughters: Michael and Ann Cordova, Mitchell and Su Cordova, Lydia and Randy Benavides, Nancy and Jeff Abel, Eric and Carolyn Cordova, and Ramona and Ron Price; 33 grandchildren, and 62 great-grandchildren. And her special friend, Gus Kilstadius. She is also survived by her brother, Gilbert and Leanna Carlson; brother-in-law, Bruce Mitchell; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a grandson, Alejandro.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 7, 2018, with a viewing to be held that same day from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Brigham City, 205 S. 100 E. Interment, Brigham City Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Bristol Hospice and the staff of the Willow Glen Nursing Home for their loving care of our mother.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to offset the funeral costs to be sent to America First Credit Union in the name of Lydia Benavides the account 9644 for LaRane Cordova.
