January 30, 1943 ~ December 31, 2017

Ronald B. Hill, resident of Ogden, Utah, and Scare Canyon Ranch, Utah peacefully passed away December 31, 2017, at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. Ron was a great-great- grandson of Captain James Brown, founder of Ogden, Utah. He was proud of his pioneer heritage and his roots in Ogden, Utah. Born on January 30, 1943, to beloved parents, Ethel Mae Brown and LeRoy James Hill.

He graduated from Ogden High in 1961, and attended Weber State and Utah State University.

As a teenager, Ron spent his summers in West Yellowstone, Montana where he helped his parents run the Yellowstone Motel. It was there he began working for the US Government. He was hired by the US Forest Service and later worked at Defense Depot Ogden and Hill Air Force Base, retiring after 27 years.

He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the North British Mission.

Ron was a jack-of-all-trades. He built a cabin for his mother at Scare Canyon that later became his home. He loved the beauty of the area, the friends that he made there and the activities and endless projects that kept him busy.

Surviving are his brother, James LeRoy (Joyce) Hill; his twin sister, Ruth Ann (David) Toller; his son, Jeffery Ronald (Rowena) Hill; and grandchildren, Jason, Chelsea, and Nicholas; his daughter, Michelle Hill; and two great-granddaughters. He also leaves behind 11 nieces and nephews who will miss his teasing and stories.

The family would like to thank his faithful friends for all the help, love and support given him. In addition, thank you Stonehenge of Ogden, Mountain Ridge Assisted Living, and Harrison Regent where he had resided the past few years. He appreciated you all.

Our gentle giant is off on another adventure.

Dedication of the Grave will be held on Monday, January 8, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
