The newest dinosaur is nearly ready to roam at the George S. Eccles Dinosaur Park in Ogden. After a year of work, Cliff Green is in the final days of building a life-size Spinosaurus sculpture. The 45 foot long fish-eating Spinosaurus had a giant sail along its spine and was one of the largest dinosaurs to ever live. Green, who designed to animal and is building the sculpture by hand, works as a professional sculptor with a specialty in prehistoric animals. “Art and paleontology were kissing cousins,’ says Green when describing his passions as a child. “Weird kids who are into dinosaurs usually grow out of it. The rest of us become paleontologists,” says Green. The Spinosaurus sculpture is scheduled to debut for the public on July 1.
