OGDEN — National Hispanic Heritage Month begins this weekend, and Ogden kicks it off right with a trio of free events in the first three days of the celebration:

  • On Saturday afternoon, the Ogden Hispanic Festival comes to Ogden’s Union Station.
  • On Sunday afternoon, Ogden City’s First Latino Short Film Festival hits Brewvies Ogden.
  • Finally, on Monday evening, the dance troupe Ballet Folklorico de las Americas, accompanied by the band Mariachi de mi Tierra, takes the stage at Peery's Egyptian Theater.

And to top it all off, earlier this week the Ogden City Council passed a joint proclamation declaring Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, 2018, “Hispanic Heritage Month” in the city of Ogden.

It’s a fitting start to a festive month.
