Community cinema: Catch a free flick with neighbors

A few locations finish their outdoor movie series this week, so head out and catch one of the films playing outside. Or head to a library for an indoor film.

All films are free.

Free Friday Films in Layton — A new fairy tale where a maiden meets a lawyer in New York City will have you “Enchanted,” 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, Kenley Amphitheater, 403 N. Wasatch Drive, Layton. FREE.

Kaysville Summer Nights LIVE — Your last chance to catch food trucks and watch a movie in the park, this time it’s Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast,” dusk Saturday, Aug. 18, Heritage Park, 250 N. Fairfield Road, Kaysville, FREE.

Weber County Main Library — The second in the LEGO series, “The LEGO Batman Movie,” plays 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, Weber County Library, 2464 Jefferson Ave., Ogden.

Weber County Library Ogden Valley Branch — The Disney classic “Bambi” tells the story of the future Great Prince of the Forest, 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, Ogden Valley Branch, 131 S. 7400 East, Huntsville.

Weber County Library Pleasant Valley Branch — You can catch a movie at this branch on two days this week. First up, Beatrix Potter’s classic children’s story adapted to the big screen in “Peter Rabbit,” 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18. “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword” is a teen and older movie about the legendary king, 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, Pleasant Valley Branch, 5568 Adams Ave., Washington Terrace.

Movies on the Mountain — Let the kids burn off energy at Kids Zone Activities, then this outdoor movie series closes with the latest Marvel film, “The Avengers: Infinity War,” dusk Monday, Aug. 20, Snowbasin Resort, 3925 E. Snowbasin Road, Huntsville.

Movie Night on the Bay — Your last chance to watch a film from the beach or the water with “Sing,” dusk Monday, Aug. 20, Willard Bay State Park, 900 W. 650 North, Willard, Film is free, however, park entrance fees apply.

Weber County Library Southwest Branch — Harold and George save the school from a real life villain in “Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie,” noon Monday, Aug. 20, Southwest Branch, 2039 W. 4000 South, Roy.

Weber County Library North Branch — This time the gnomes take on Shakespeare in “Gnomeo & Juliet,” 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, North Branch, 475 E. 2600 North, North Ogden.
