OGDEN — Chvrches, the oddly-spelled band from Glasgow, Scotland, closes out the 2018 version of the popular Ogden Twilight Concert Series.
The synth-pop trio performs at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, in the Ogden Amphitheater, 343 Historic 25th St. Gates open at 5 p.m.
Opening for Chvrches will be Pale Waves, an English indie pop band. The evening begins with a Local Spotlight performance by Tishmal, the indie electric solo project of Rachel Brockbank. She is a San Diego native currently living in Provo.
Chvrches formed in September 2011 and rose to prominence on the back of continuous touring. Although they’ve had no Top 10 singles, the band has become well-known throughout the world.
Chvrches released an EP in March 2013, then followed that up with its first studio album, “The Bones of What You Believe,” later that same year. The band’s second album, “Every Open Eye,” dropped in 2015, and their latest — “Love Is Dead” — came out this past spring.
The group consists of lead singer Lauren Mayberry and multi-instrumentalists Iain Cook and Martin Doherty.
Admission to Tuesday’s show is $15. Tickets are available through www.24tix.com
