Frucci foundation awards

Pictured are the recipients of the Frucci Foundation's Northern Wasatch Advocates for Aging Awards this past fall. They are (from left to right): Amanda Thompson, a physical therapist with the Davis County Stepping On Program, professional award; Mike Reed, representing Bowman's Market, business award; Rebeca Rajcany, a volunteer at Roy Senior Center and Ogden Regional Medical Center, volunteer award, and Joe Ritchie, former Weber County commissioner and Roy mayor, political leader award.

This is the 17th in a 25-part series, 25 Days of Giving, that features one-minute videos on Northern Utah non-profit agencies during the month of December.

What is the name of your non-profit? The Jim & Alda Frucci Senior Assistance Foundation (Frucci Foundation). We are an IRS-registered 501 (c)(3) and licensed by the State of Utah.

Where are you located? 2780 Madison Ave., Ogden, in the Comfort Keepers office.

Do you have specific hours? 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

What do you do? The mission of the Jim & Alda Frucci Senior Assistance Foundation (Frucci Foundation) is to promote social and emotional well-being for low-income and under-served seniors living in Northern Utah by providing goods and services that will allow them to live a productive and enjoyable life, and remain in the comfort and privacy of their own homes.

You should volunteer for this program if ... You have a strong desire to contribute to the health, welfare and happiness of low-income, under-served seniors over 65 years of age.

How can people help? People can assist the foundation primarily by supporting the Northern Wasatch Advocates for Aging Awards. The awards are sponsored by a subcommittee of the Frucci Foundation that sponsors an annual banquet recognizing senior heroes in our community — three individuals and one business. The individuals are people that have made substantial contributions to the welfare of seniors through volunteering, through their occupation, or through their impact on public policy (elected officials). These three people and one business will be recognized on Oct, 13, 2016 at our annual awards banquet.

People help by nominating a person or business for the award, by being a sponsor (business or non-profit group) or by simply attending. Monetary contributions to the foundation are also appreciated.

How can people contact you? Call the Comfort Keepers office at 801-629-4663 and ask for Louie Frucci.

Do you have a website? The best way to keep current on information and events regarding the foundation is to visit Facebook and search for “Frucci Foundation.” “Like” the foundation page and you will receive notices of upcoming events.
