The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints held a viewing for President Thomas S. Monson on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018. Monson died Monday, Jan. 2, 2018, after serving as the church's leader for nearly 10 years. A funeral for Monson will be at the LDS Church Conference Center Friday, Jan. 12 at noon. Monson became a church bishop at the age of 22 and also became the youngest church apostle ever in 1963 at the age of 36. He served as a counselor for three church presidents before taking the role of president for the church.
