The Davis County Celebration Orchestra teamed up with the Summer Strings Adventure Camp for a concert at the Ed Kenley Amphitheater July 28, 2016, in Layton. The concert raised money for Utah's Easy to Love.

The full northern Utah calendar of events is on L4, but here are three local events you should check out this week:

1. Ogden Pioneer Days Grand Parade

Washington Blvd., Ogden, July 24, 9 a.m.

From the Ogden Pioneer Days: “The commemoration of Utah’s statehood starts with Ogden Pioneer Days’ Grande Parade, which runs through the heart of Ogden City. Thousands of spectators line up along Washington Boulevard to cheer for marching bands, service organizations, student body representatives from area schools, floats, horse drawn carriages, antique automobiles, and youth dance groups. There’s literally something for everybody.”

2. ‘Riders in the Sky’ Pioneer Day Concert

Kenley Amphitheater, Layton, July 24, 7 p.m.

From Layton City: “This is the Grammy award winning band that brings us the Cowboy Way, Woody’s Roundup, and Monsters Inc. Pull up a chair for the entire family to enjoy the greatest cowboy music in the world. Seats fill up fast and are available on a first come first serve basis. Be sure to stay after the show for the 6th Annual Electric Light Parade and Party Zone at Layton Commons Park.”

3. Mom and Son Float the Boat Event

Brigham City Pool, Brigham City, July 19, 8:30 a.m. 

From Brigham City: “Get ready for one of the most epic splashdowns of the summer! Build your own boat using only cardboard and tape, then race it to glory! One of you MUST ride in the boat, so make sure it’s float-worthy! Open to sons 20 years and under. Think you’ve got what it takes to Float the Boat? Prove it!”
