Davis County is No. 2 in the country for employment growth, according to numbers released Wednesday by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics

Out of the 347 largest counties in the country, Davis saw a 4.9 percent increase in employment from the first quarter of 2016 to the first quarter of this year. The national average increase for employment is 1.6 percent, according to the report.

Utah County also ranked highly, coming in at No. 4 with a 4.5 percent gain.

Weber County, however, didn’t even crack the top 100, ranking at 107 among the largest counties with a 2.2 percent increase.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics also took a look at the average weekly wage, which rose 6.6 percent nationally to $1,111 over the last year.

Davis and Weber counties fell below that margin, with workers earning $826 a week in Davis and $784 in Weber. Those in Salt Lake County were slightly closer to the national average, earning $1,038 a week.
