OGDEN — New leaders could be coming to several cities across Weber County after ballots are counted on Nov. 2. Several, at least, face challenges.

Here’s a rundown of the mayoral races on the ballot this year across Weber County, first the contested ones (there are six of them):

Farr West: Incumbent Lee Dickemore faces a challenge from Ken Phippen, a member of the Farr West City Council.

Harrisville: Incumbent Michelle Tait faces a challenge from Larry Lilly.

Huntsville: Huntsville will be getting a new mayor as incumbent Jim Truett isn’t seeking reelection. The hopefuls are Doug Allen and Richard Sorensen, a member of the Huntsville Town Council.

Plain City: Incumbent Mayor Jon Beesley is facing a challenge from Miles Robinson.

Washington Terrace: Incumbent Mayor Mark Allen is facing a challenge from Brett DeGroot.

West Haven: Incumbent Mayor Sharon Bolos faces a challenge from Rob Vanderwood, a member of the West Haven City Council.

Riverdale: Riverdale will be getting a new mayor — Braden Mitchell, the only hopeful for the top slot on the ballot. Incumbent Norm Searle isn’t seeking reelection.

Marriott-Slaterville: Incumbent Mayor Scott VanLeeuwen is the only mayoral hopeful.

North Ogden: Incumbent Mayor Neal Berube is the only mayoral hopeful.

Pleasant View: Incumbent Mayor Leonard Call is the only mayoral hopeful.

Roy: Incumbent Mayor Bob Dandoy is the only mayoral hopeful.

South Ogden: Incumbent Mayor Russell Porter is the only mayoral hopeful.

Uintah: Incumbent Mayor Gordon Cutler is the only mayoral hopeful.

The Hooper and Ogden mayoral posts aren’t up for election this cycle.

Mail-in ballots have been sent to registered voters and they must be postmarked by Nov. 1 if they’re mailed back to the Weber County Elections Office. They also may be left at any of the drop boxes scattered around the county by 8 p.m. on Nov. 2, when voting culminates.
