RL 012215 Communities That Care - Underage Drinking-4

Students of Bonneville High School walk by advertisements promoted by Parents Empowered after a town hall discussion on the negative effects and importance of parental involvement to help curb underage drinking in the Washington Terrace and Riverdale areas as well as Utah at large, and was held at Bonneville High School on January 22, 2015.

WASHINGTON TERRACE — A coalition serving Weber County’s south end is launching a new effort to prevent underage drinking.

Bonneville Communities That Care — an organization made up of law enforcement, city officials, parents and other concerned residents from Riverdale, South Ogden, Uintah and Washington Terrace — will present information about the problem of teen alcohol consumption from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, at the Pleasant Valley Branch of Weber County Library, 5568 S. Adams Ave., Washington Terrace.

In a Facebook post, the group promises to unveil a “larger-than-life message for parents and youth” during the short session.
