Victim of auto-pedestrian fatality was not in crosswalk, Layton police say
LAYTON — A 45-year-old man was hit by a car on Wednesday evening and died later at a Layton hospital, police said.
Police identified the man as Lorenzo Richardson.
The crash occurred at about 7 p.m. at 1055 W. Antelope Drive, Lt. Travis Lyman, Layton Police Department spokesperson, said Friday.
“It was dark and he was wearing all black, walking southbound across Antelope, not in a crosswalk,” Lyman said.
No impairment of the driver is suspected. The driver “really didn’t have any advance notice” that Richardson was in the road, Lyman said.
The man was taken to a Layton hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
