ROY — A boy was flown to a local hospital after being injured in a crash involving a school bus in Roy Friday afternoon.

At 2:39 p.m., Roy Police spokesman Detective Josh Taylor said there was an auto-pedestrian crash involving a Weber School District school bus and a 12-year-old boy on his bike near 2500 W. 5175 South.

Roy Police initially said the boy was 14 years old, but later corrected his age in a press release.

The boy was riding his bike west on 5175 West and was hit by the bus that was going south, the release says.

The boy was taken to to Davis Hospital’s Roy Campus before being flown to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City.

He was last known to be in critical condition, according to the release.

Weber School District spokesman Lane Findlay said no students on the bus were injured in the crash.

Police say the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
