OGDEN — Police in Ogden say one person is dead and another is injured after a shooting Monday evening in west Ogden.

No one was in custody as of Monday evening. But one or possibly two suspects were being sought in the incident, said Ogden Police Lt. Clint Christensen.

He said authorities don't believe there to be a threat to the larger community. "We believe this is targeted, but we don't have a motive yet," Christensen said.

The victims, males, were in their late teens or early 20s, he said, but he didn't provide additional identification. The injured victim was brought to a local hospital and was in critical condition.

The incident occurred at a home in the 800 block of West Lake Street in west Ogden, according to Christensen. Police were called to the scene around 5:30 p.m. Monday, and as of Monday evening, Lake Street west of G Avenue was closed with yellow police tape. Several police cars were at the location and Christensen said the Ogden Police Department Homicide Task Force had started investigating the matter.

Police, paramedics and crime scene investigators were dispatched to the area around 5:30 p.m. Monday, according to online dispatch records.
