FARMINGTON — A Layton man is being accused of sexually abusing a girl multiple times over the course of 10 years, according to police.
Clint Talbot Huff, 38, is being held in Davis County Jail on 10 first-degree felony charges, consisting of three counts of rape of a child, five counts of aggravated sex abuse of a child, one count of object rape and one count of forcible sodomy.
The alleged abuse came to light in May 2017, when a girl reported the assaults to police. A forensic interview was conducted, and the girl told police that the abuse started when she was four years old and ended when she was 14, according to a probable cause statement.
The girl told police that the first alleged attack she could remember happened when she was eight or nine. Huff allegedly took off the girl’s clothes and raped her at a home in Layton, documents say. Another alleged attack the girl detailed occurred at Huff’s workplace. She told police that Huff put her on the hood of a work truck and allegedly raped her. At the time she was 13 years old, according to charging documents.
The victim detailed other instances where Huff allegedly assaulted her, and said that Huff would sometimes give her “hickies.”
Approximately a year into the investigation, new allegations against Huff emerged. The investigation and screening processes for the first case were still ongoing at the time, court documents say.
A second victim told investigators that on multiple occasions, Huff allegedly touched the girl’s bare genitals with the rag when she was nine or 10 years old. She said this would sometimes occur when she was blindfolded, charging documents say.
The girl couldn’t recall the first alleged sexual assault, but told investigators that there were “multiple times”, according to charging documents. The alleged abuse occurred before girl was 14 years old.
A third victim told police that more than once Huff allegedly put his hand down her pants, documents say. The girl reportedly tried to get away from Huff, but he did not let her move. The abuse happened frequently enough that the girl “became afraid to be around Clint for fear he’d do it again,” charging documents allege.
The third victim also told police that Huff would give her “hickies” on her neck, so much so that she would have to cover her neck with a jacket so no one could see the bruising.
Huff was booked in the Davis County Jail Wednesday evening and is being held in lieu of a $500,000 cash-only bond.
Huff has yet to be formally charged and does not have an initial appearance date set at Farmington’s 2nd District Court.
