A Logan man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018 near the line between Box Elder and Cache counties.

BOX ELDER COUNTY — A Logan man was killed in a single-vehicle crash near the line between Box Elder and Cache counties Wednesday morning.

The Utah Highway Patrol said in a press release that a 2002 Chevrolet Prism was driving west on State Road 30 near mile post 99.

The car began to drift to the right and went off the road before it veered back to the left. It crossed into the eastbound lanes and went off a small slope before it started to roll.

William Atkinson, a 48-year-old Logan man was ejected during the crash and died. He was not wearing a seat belt.

The car rolled "quite some distance" off the roadway and was not easily visible from the road, the release says.

Officers were alerted to the crash at 8:14 a.m., but officials estimate the crash happened sometime between 4:30 and 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to the news release.

Police believe fatigued driving may have been a factor in the crash.
