OGDEN — An Ogden man has been accused of shooting another man in the stairwell of a hotel back in July. 

Randy Jay Anderson, 30, was booked in jail Thursday and is charged with one count of attempted murder with a dangerous weapon, a first-degree felony. 

On July 21, Anderson approached a man who was in the stairwell of the Courtyard Inn and allegedly shot at him with a .45 caliber handgun, according to charging documents. 

The man was hit, but suffered non-life threatening injuries, the document says. 

Upon further investigation, police found that Anderson allegedly sent threatening messages to the victim over Facebook prior to the shooting, charging documents state. Anderson allegedly told the victim he "was going to put bullets in him."

Anderson is being held without bail at the Weber County Jail. 

His initial appearance is scheduled for Sept. 27 in Ogden's 2nd District Court.
