OGDEN — Police have identified a wounded man found in Ogden who later died from his injuries and have identified a suspect in the case.

Ogden Police said in a press release Wednesday that 28-year-old DJ Parkinson was found lying in a patch of grass in the 2200 block of Monroe Boulevard around 9:50 p.m. on Saturday.

A passerby found Parkinson with “significant injuries to his torso,” according to the release. Parkinson was taken to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Upon further investigation, police ruled that Parkinson’s death was a homicide.

Police are still on the lookout for the suspect in the man’s death, who they identified as 18-year-old Xavier Soto. Soto’s whereabouts were unknown as of Wednesday afternoon, and police are encouraging anyone who knows of Soto’s location to contact police.

Those with information regarding Soto or anyone who was driving through the area of 2200 Monroe Boulevard that night are encouraged to contact OPD Detective Travis Kearl at 801-629-8029.

Parkinson’s death marks the first Ogden and Weber County homicide of 2019.
