BW 07242015 Pioneer Day Parade 032-25

Pioneer Day Parade takes place on Washington Blvd in Ogden on July 24, 2015.

Pioneer Day falls on a Monday this year, so it might be good to double check what’s going to be open and closed before you head out the door.

Because Pioneer Day is not a federal holiday, no federal offices — like the U.S. Postal Service — will be closed.

Call ahead to individual businesses and restaurants to see if they’re observing the holiday.

CITY AND COUNTY OFFICES

Most city offices will be closed for Pioneer Day, Monday, July 24.

Weber and Davis County offices will also be closed.

DMV/DRIVER’S LICENSE OFFICES

Both the Division of Motor Vehicles and the Driver’s License Division offices in Utah will be closed Monday.

LIBRARIES

Weber County Library locations will be closed Monday in observance of Pioneer Day, as will Davis County libraries. Both library systems are also closed on Sundays during the summer.

LIQUOR STORES

Any Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control offices, liquor stores and package agencies will be closed Monday.

BANKS

All Zions Bank locations in Utah will be closed Monday. However, other banks usually observe federal holiday schedules. Check with your bank to see if their locations will be open for Pioneer Day.

UTA

Utah Transit Authority will run Saturday service hours on bus, FrontRunner and Paratransit routes, with extended TRAX and FrontRunner service. There will be no service to Park City.
