Police car lights breaking

WASHINGTON TERRACE — Police arrested a 27-year-old man after a domestic dispute and several hours of searching the Washington Terrace and South Ogden area.

Police were dispatched at 9:13 a.m. to an address near 5540 S. 150 East in Washington Terrace, according to Sgt. Nealy Adams with the Weber County Sheriff's Office.

Police were sent to the house after reports of an aggravated domestic violence situation involving a man with a gun, according to Adams.

According to a press release from the Weber County Sheriff's Office, 27-year-old Carson Lowe was arguing with his parents when he left the parent's home to allegedly retrieve a gun from his car, but those inside were able to lock the door before Lowe could reenter.

Deputies arrived at the house and allegedly chased Lowe before he briefly entered the home through a backdoor then fled the scene. A handgun was recovered from the home, the release said.

Adams said the man, whom police believe to be Carson Lowe, got into a verbal argument with family members. A firearm was involved during the incident, but it was not used, Adams said.

No injuries were reported and threats were only directed toward those in the specified home, Adams said.

Police were searching for the suspect for much of Tuesday morning and into the afternoon. Police were in the area knocking on doors and asking residents for permission to search their backyards. Two K-9 units were in the area assisting in the search, Adams said.

Around 3 p.m., police located Lowe near Glassman Pond. He allegedly tried to flee once more, but was captured by law enforcement, Adams said. Neither Lowe nor officers were injured in the pursuit.

As of 6 p.m. Tuesday evening, Lowe was said to be in police custody and awaiting to be booked into the Weber County Jail. He is being booked on two counts of failure to stop at the command of police and other charges.
