Police car lights breaking

OGDEN — Police have released the name of a man killed in a crash involving a motorcycle Tuesday evening.

Corey Thurgood, a 65-year-old North Ogden resident, died from his injuries while on the way to a local hospital via ambulance, according to Ogden Police Lt. Brian Eynon.

Police were dispatched to the crash scene at 8:26 p.m. Tuesday after Thurgood was traveling north on his motorcycle in the 900 North block of Washington Boulevard when a southbound Toyota Camry driven by a 87-year-old woman made a left hand turn in front of him, according to a press release from the Ogden Police

The woman did not see Thurgood on his motorcycle and turned in front of him, causing the motorcycle to hit her car.

Thurgood was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police say.

Police do not believe impairment was a factor in the crash.
