Fire trucks on scene

WASHINGTON TERRACE — A garage attached to a home located at 211 W. 4800 South was destroyed by a fire Saturday morning.

Seven people, ranging in age from 5 to 64, were displaced by the fire. There were no injuries, according to Clay Peterson, fire chief with Washington Terrace Fire Department.

There is smoke damage throughout the house, Peterson said, but this damage can be repaired.

Emergency response was dispatched to the home at 9:14 a.m. Saturday morning, Peterson said.

Five agencies responded, including Riverdale Fire, South Ogden Fire, Ogden Fire and Washington Terrace Fire departments, as well as Weber Fire District. Four fire engines were present at the scene, Peterson said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by Peterson and the Utah State Fire Marshal’s Office, Peterson said.
