HUNTSVILLE — A skier at Snowbasin Resort reportedly sustained a fall of 30 feet Saturday and was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries he sustained, according to Mark Lund, battalion chief with the Weber Fire District.

Ski resort officials said the male skier, who officials didn’t identify, apparently fell off a 30-foot cliff while skiing, Lund said, sustaining injuries to his face and “upper extremities.” A helicopter was called to transport the man to the hospital but it was called off due to the unfavorable weather conditions. Instead an ambulance transported the man.

The man was taken off the mountain by ski patrol officials at Snowbasin.
