APTOPIX Winter Weather Boston

People struggle to walk in the blowing snow during a winter storm Tuesday, March 14, 2017, in Boston.

New Year's Eve is going to be a windy one for Weber and Davis counties.

A high wind warning will go into effect from 5 p.m. Monday to 8 a.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service of Salt Lake City

East winds will be 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 55 mph, the NWS said, while areas between Centerville and Farmington may see gusts up to 65 mph. Winds will increase Monday afternoon and peak during the overnight hours before tapering off Tuesday morning.

Downslope and canyon wind-prone areas near Bountiful and Farmington, along the Layton bench, and at the mouth of Weber County will see the most wind, the NWS.

The NWS advised that strong cross winds will affect travel along Interstate 15 between Bountiful and Farmington, and U.S. Highway 89 along the Layton bench to Weber Canyon.

"Areas of blowing snow may limit visibility, and result in slick road conditions. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result," the NWS said.
