Letter: Why do Latter-day Saints still feel like they should live in Utah?

Oct 22, 2021

It boggles my mind how Latter-day Saints feel like they should live in Utah. For instance, LDS will move to Utah even though LDS are not commanded to relocate to the Beehive State like they used to be. (From my LDS mission, I recall LDS moving from New Jersey to Utah.)

The Book of Mormon even says that one of its characters, Nephi, had a vision wherein “the covenant people of the Lord (LDS) … were scattered upon all the face of the earth” (1 Nephi 14:14).

Yet, LDS will feel like they must move to or stay in Utah.

It suggests that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has many members who are converted to a certain culture and like-mindedness, but don’t know their scripture as well as they could.
