Our government bureaucracy at work. I live in Layton and I have no park strip. I’m going to flip my whole front yard. I took the required class and in the class I asked about this and was told in Davis Co. it is administered on a city by city bases. I contacted Layton City and was told this is under the control of Weber Basin Water Conservancy District. I contacted Weber Basin about getting a rebate for what the equivalent of a park strip would be for my yard and was told “no park strip, no rebate”. I researched who runs Weber Basin and found out the board of directors is appointed by the governor of Utah. I sent a request to Governor Cox and requested he contact Weber Basin regarding this and to respond to me with an answer as to why I got the response from Weber Basin denying a rebate because of no park strip. I thought that the whole effort here is to save water and our government will help defray costs. Apparently the governor doesn’t feel that my request deserved a response as I’ve heard nothing!
